I have a tailgate table and moreryde HD hinge kit. I would like to “latch” the gate fully open or at least 90’ point. I currently use a random stick / rock / bone to wedge in the hinge to keep it open. Before I come up with a brilliant idea it’s probably in my best interest to ask what others had done.

You can pay "American Outlaw" $30 for this industrial door stop, or buy it elsewhere for $15...

Clever, the door stop
I’ll have to think on that for the HD hinges- maybe cut the leg and add a section to make it longer - that said, maybe just buy a similar unit at HD and hack it to fit.
I actually once did use a bone I found kickin around in the dirt - species? No idea, but curiously that yapping purse dog was silent the rest of the trip 😬

I find a small plastic wedge works well - can be found in most stores that carry chainsaws. Prop it in the hinge between the door and body

A few years ago I designed a tailgate prop specifically for the MORryde hinges (I also designed the hinges and tailgate reinforcement for MORryde BTW). It mounts inside the hinge using factory holes; no modifications to the hinges are required. They've been in use on my LJ and my Jeep-tub trailer for five years and have worked perfectly. A few people have made their own based on the drawing and photo.

I used Jeff’s design and really like it! Thanks, Jeff!

Thanks for the pic @jscherb - that’s the idea I was hoping for. But I will say a 3D print in a bone shape that could be stored on the gate with a couple magnets
Would be fun and FUNctional. rj

Well, that’s clever. It looks like a slotted piece is a track for the “keeper” pin? How is that slotted piece secured to the hinge? Maybe a couple more pics - I like it.
