•After finding several broken-off spider gear teeth on our sons ‘99 TJ’ rear differential, I decided that the fastest step to get back wheeling would be the “hot glue stick”

Don't forget the chlorinated brake cleaner!

(Seriously, use the non chlorinated stuff.)

I love my big blue squirt gun. If it works for you then perfect.

Explain why the non chlorinated “stuff” ?

Chlorinated cleaners turn into chlorine gas when heated. Not something you want to inhale or get on you.

From da google machine;

Health Hazards:
    • Low Concentrations: May cause irritation to the eyes, nose, throat, and respiratory tract.
    • High Concentrations: Can lead to severe respiratory distress, pulmonary edema, and potentially death.
    • Skin and Eye Contact: Can cause burns, irritation, and inflammation.
    • Long-Term Effects: Chronic exposure can cause chloracne and enamel corrosion.
Exposure Symptoms:
    • Mild: Eye and nasal irritation, sore throat, cough.
    • Moderate: Chest pain, shortness of breath, wheezing.
    • Severe: Stridor, rales, hemoptysis, pulmonary edema, laryngeal edema, and even respiratory arrest.
    • Skin: Redness, erythema, burning pain, blisters.
    • Eyes: Tearing, conjunctivitis, corneal burns.

Heated chlorinated brake cleaner becomes phosgene gas.

Something else I learned along those line, never clean up urine with something like bleach. Chlorine and ammonia react and produce a chloramine gas, and that's not pleasant to deal with. I learned that lesson after going into a rent house with a crazy cat lady. The cats were pissing on the concrete floor and she was mopping it with bleach. 30 seconds in there and I was having a hard time breathing, my eyes were watering and my nose was burning/running. I guess she had become accustomed to it.
