What did you do to your TJ today?

Slapped that replacement subwoofer
In the center console then bolted the seats back in. Drove it to the gym this morning and that replacement foam on the drivers butt is astounding! Love it. Next I need to sort out why the AC ain’t cool 😝

Officially have owned my 2005 for two weeks now. Today I installed a new Sony radio (original one wasn’t working well, changed the transmission fluid to MTL 75w80, and now I’m chasing why my blower motor resistor is busted. Hoping to have everything worked out for the winter time

Welcome to the club!

Not me but my 17-year-old taught his 19-year-old brother how to drive a manual on Gerty today. They then went to get windshield wiper blades for the older one’s car.

Apparently only one stall on the trip after 45 minutes of practice in a parking lot. Vaguely impressed that they did all this together and managed to not get in a fistfight.

I’m seeing a clutch replacement in our future.

I ran a bead of sealant around the door-off mirrors' gasket to help eliminate the annoying whistle that was created at speeds over 35-ish.
It seems to have helped.
Found a pic.
You can see that it isn't a great match to the black rubber or mirror, but it is black sealant.

Also printed up a couple of caps to clean up the bolt heads

Held on with a dab of sealant goop stuff.

Got the drive shaft out and learned that it is completely shot. No way it can be rebuilt. Looks like the centering bearing let loose and they just kept on driving which also destroyed the bearings in the rear pinion... does it ever stop 🤣🤣🤣. But I did also learn that the gears were upgraded to 4.88s. Everytime I find something bad i also find something good

Going through photos from last week’s Moab trip, I found a pic that matched one from the previous year. Kinda neat to see how different the rig is… Rubi44s on 35s then to HP60/13bolt on 41.5s (and the grillwork)

Ahhhhh, you missed the mark on sun placement...

😉

That's a really cool comparison shot. Where is that?

I just put these on the other day and noticed that whistle. I love my half doors, but no doors just makes the Jeep feel like a Jeep. Also a bit cooler in the cab.

Replaced the driver side axle shaft u-joint. Took hours, and ruined a new joint; good thing I bought two. Haven’t done this in 20 years, it showed. Surprised that two opposing bearing caps were dry. Installed the Currie 44 and 4340 shafts just 7 years ago. Took four beers. IMG_4410.jpegIMG_4412.jpeg

Easier job using a hammer than a press.

Last bit of the front end came in. Luckily the ball joints are still good, but I suspect in the next year or so I'll be swapping them.

The Currie steering just feels worlds better. Track bar showed up today and I'll get her on after the 4th of July weekend. And probably fix that stupid bump stop that fell out. Ugh.

But man, everything feels so much better now.

The other project I worked on today was sticking my 3D printed switch panel in. Although I hit one little snag, the back panel needs to be cut in order to fit my Bluesea 12V plugs in the former blank cig spot. Womp womp.

Still, it looks super factory which I love.

Question for anyone who made it this far; I'm trying to find a good location for a Bluesea fuse blade panel I want to install. A few of my lower voltage accessories are gonna run to this.

I mounted one to the front header panel, just behind the passenger headlight. It was a bit different than the one you have, but my AuxBeam 8 gang panel fits there too.
