What did you do to your TJ today?

Out with the 35” in with the 33”. Pic for comparison.
Next up is get rid of the bushwhacker flares and try to locate some Rubi/Sahara Flares.
Rides better, maybe shocks next and research the skid plate getting tucked under more.

Initially I thought it looked funny with the extra room but I also didn’t like the 35” without going higher. (Head hurts thinking about all this lol)

Yes, you can replace just the clutch, but you need to make sure that the clutch is the problem, first. A compressor can lock up, too.

Ill take a look when I am back home, but it seems like just the clutch from checking in the parking lot last night, thanks for confirming! I know newer cars dont usually have that option...

Collecting parts, figuring things out, planning my build.

Discovered the previous owner wired the speakers in with good ol twist wire connectors. 🤦‍♂️ Gonna fix that.

Can't relate to being hermetically sealed inside my Jeep, so the top everything else came off. Installed a Spiderweb shade. Debating on the grille inserts PO installed. Part of me likes them, part of me wants this to have the traditional looks. I can't believe the radiator was just... that exposed.

Got my Currectlync Steering in the shop today. Waiting a few more days before the end of school next week before I start actually doing stuff; so middle daughter can help. She's become the gear head of the family. So this is going to be a Dad & Daughter project.

Few more things to gather up, and then ready to start working.

I left the inserts in for the radiator protection and I was concerned what kind of paint rubbing damage that would be exposed.

Added some sound deadening material in back seat, since a friend gave me a little Kicker truck sub last year and I decided to add an amp and see how if it rounds out the 5 1/4" Kicker DS's up front. It helped, but the dash speakers sounded terrible (even in the select increments dash pods). So...added a kicker 4way amp.

Now it sounds much better.😀

The NVX Tri-layer worked pretty good to deaden the resonance you get with a sub (even put a little patch in center of tailgate).

Mounted the amps under steering wheel. A little sticky with two amps, and a lot of cables to clean up, but I think it makes a good safe location for them. Ive seen a few people mount them upside down in this location. Thats not a good idea generally unless your amp allows that orientation. The heat build up could damage them, since they are usually designed to vent from top.

If you notice, I got carried away with the sound deadening and did the rest of the floor. and back wheel arches. It really made a big difference.

Put in new shocks, had to cut access holes in the rear tub to cut off the snapped bolts. Those fukkers were welded on good!!! Took a lot longer than I was expecting.

Also new tranny fluid, used Redline MT90 because it seems like a favorite here.

Test fit one of the half doors I picked up a couple weeks ago. The upper frames came in on Friday and I wrestled the new upper skins on them over the weekend. Still haven’t had a chance to test for those yet. Need to clean the jeep up before I swap over to the half doors so I’m not storing dirty doors. Need to figure out a wall storage solution for the unused set of doors soonish as well.
