I made lift for the cab out of my engine hoist, 4post lift…I turned up the adventure knob to 11. Every last one of straps…

First but very important step of the new shop:

I’ve been experimenting with zinc plating. First project was restoring a set of hub caps for a friends vintage Radio Flyer restoration project. They started off totally rusty and came out nicely. Top right is first attempt and came out a little grainy. Bottom right is final attempt and came out with very fine grain and very shinny.

Looks good. Did you do only zinc or is there a base layer, like copper, before zinc?
What kind/model Radio Flyer? I restored my childhood wagon, a Sears "Country Squire" which was actually made by Radio.

Straight zinc. I’m going to try nickel platting for my next project. Next project is a 1939 Columbia tank bike that needs the bright work refreshed. I just need to source some nickel.

The girl needed another project for wood shop. I have a workbench with a partial plywood shelf halfway down. Decided to have her build be a set of drawers to fit in the opening. Hopefully my tools will be a little better organized with the drawers. The tools are sets for example tie rod separators, front end pullers, which are in cases. I didn’t care about anything fancy with a face frame etc. Goal was to maximize the drawer size.
The kid HAS to make something for YOUR garage for school! Peak parenting moment. That is awesome lol
Thanks, she did a great job. Were found the reject pile of 4x8x3/4 plywood and it had a sheet of walnut. So we got it then what we needed in boards for the rest. The place has a stack of rejects, any sheet $50 for the 3/4”. Did the same for the drawers, it was white oak.
