I plan on purchasing an ARB locker for my 2006 Jeep Unlimited (42RLE\33" tires) rear Dana 44. I will also be purchasing new gears (4.88 or 5.13).

Should I purchase the ARB RD116 (3.92 and up) and standard-cut gears or should I purchase the ARB RD117 (3.73 and down) and thick-cut gears.

Is there anything that would push my decision one way or the other?

Not really unless you already have standard or thick cut gears that you got a good deal on or something.

FWIW, this is mine after 5.13, 42RLE and 33" tires, it was running 2,750-2800 at 75mph. If you're sure you aren't going to go bigger than 33s maybe just go with 4.88.

You want 513 because of the transmission. And standard cut on the rd116 makes the most sense because you are not reusing an existing thick cut gear set.
