What did you do to your TJ today?

Too much e-begging in the world nowadays. We really need to bring back "shame" as a society.

It was like the Galliard Sartain scene in the tv movie version of The Jerk with Steve Martin- wanting money to redo his leather airplane seats so he could fly his friends to the LSU game like a man. 😆😆

Few days ago got a new (to me) welder.

Today fiddled with/cleaned up some wiring, improved splices, sprayed contact cleaner, and confirmed continuity of all three pins of CKP back to PCM. For all this, the CMP and CKP codes did go away, along with the flashing CEL (also did the battery/PCM reset), but now, mysteriously, limp mode has me somewhat stuck around 1900RPM instead of 2300! Still have the O2 sensor codes.

Yes, the #2 was completely clogged/damaged which made the jeep un-drivable. It also caused the damage to the 3rd one. So, I cleaned the 3rd one out completely. Jeep is now running great. The new one was $701.00 with tax. Local shop(s) wanted any ware from $1600.00 to $2400.00 to replace it.

If you don't already, you'll want adjustable lower control arms to put the wheelbase where it was originally.

And you will need the angled track bar bracket if you have over a 2" lift. That will keep your track bar off the gas tank side plate.

I do have adjustable lowers, but they are the ones that came in the skyjacker kit. I'm not sure but I think they cut the threads with a worn out tap, the joints were a bear to screw in on them and I don't think I could get them any shorter if I wanted. I do have a pair of metalcloak single adjustable lowers that were part of a deal I got in the for sale section along with the double adjustable uppers i installed last weekend.

I have a JKS angled trackbar bracket on order but I did put some miles on it on the highway (breaking in gears) and didn't hear it hitting the gas tank skid. I'll get under there and see if I have any witness marks from it rubbing on the skid.

Running 285/70-17 on JLR wheels it rides nice despite the tires being load range E. Still some work to do on the front axle pinion angle now, I have about 6 degrees of caster currently which is great on the highway and return to center, but starting about 60 i am getting vibrations from the front driveshaft, so i'll check those angles and see where I can get to without sacrificing on road manners.

Also the 5.13s might be a bit short for long highway trips with these tires, it is turning 2,800rpm at 75mph in OD, which computes to over 4,000 driveshaft rpm at 75mph. On the plus side it doesn't feel like a dog in OD.

Most of the time, the track bar will only hit when articulating the suspension. Mine always hit on full droop on the driver side, but never on the road.

I went with the JKS track bar. It has more of a kick towards the front to avoid the gas tank skid plate.

Is there a list of the size screws used for the interior panels? Door panel, dash panel, center console, etc. My jeep was missing some of the hardware when I bought it and I've just dealt with it till now but I've gotten almost everything interior wise in good order at this point and now it's bothering me that about half the hardware is missing :ROFLMAO:

I probably have the ones I need somewhere, but somehow when I compare the hundreds of various screws I have, not a single one of them are the same size that's on the jeep :ROFLMAO:

Full PDF parts lists are available (broken down by TJ year) in the resource section if you're looking for part numbers, sizes and quantities.

Thanks. Looks like I need several different sizes. Somebody should make a kit with the common trim screw sizes for these jeeps lol they'd make a killing

A number of the online Jeep parts places like Quadratec sell some of the fasteners (thinking screws for door cards off the top of my head), but the per part price is kind of stupid on the ones I've seen.

Try attacking various jeep and dodge suv's at a wrecking yard with a screwdriver. Chrysler is too cheap to give special fasteners to each and every model

Ohmed out both O2 sensor connectors back to PCM connectors and battery negative terminal, and all seemed good. Tried running with both sensors unplugged, and codes did go away, but ran very rough and hunting RPMs. Plugged sensors back in and rough again for a bit before leveling out, with the codes back (p31 and 37).
Measured resistance of the heater on the upstream sensor and got about 5-6ohms, which I think is right? Both of these are new NTK sensors.
Maybe tomorrow I'll try letting it run longer with the sensors unplugged and see if it levels out and then is able to rev above 2300?
