Finally got some work done on swapping the axles. Sometimes I wish I was the type of person that could just pull the old axles out and bolt the new ones in, but I’m not lol. Been gathering a few more parts for the swap. Several of the control arm bushings were needing attention. Instead of messing with changing out bushings I just ordered all new Moog control arms. Much easier and less than $200 for all eight control arms. All new hardware for the control arms, track bars, shocks, etc. Went ahead and grabbed new rotors, calipers, and spring isolators. Also picked up new fluid and LubeLocker gaskets for both axles. I did grab new Moog axle bushings for the front upper control arms. The front track bar is the Rough Country forged adjustable track bar that came off of the donor Jeep that I cleaned up and got some new hardware.
Got the axles cleaned up, treated them with Ospho, painted them black and put the new front upper bushings in. Ignore all of the old bushing mess lol
Got everything put in today. I did get it back on the ground but still have some more brake bleeding to do and go over all of the hardware. I did decide to just stay with the 2” BDS springs and Rancho RS5000X shocks I had just put on it. I picked up the 3/4” Daystar spacers for the front and the OME rear track bar bracket I needed.
Bolted the wheels/tires up from the donor Jeep, was able to drive it out, and moved the grey Jeep over to the lift so I can get it back to roller status so I can get rid of it at some point.
Also needed to get the grey Jeep out from in front of the Truck so I can take it to Cars & Coffee tomorrow because they weather is supposed to be great!
