Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

Pushed it a little hard on the last trip and was having some noises in the front end. Being as one of the Dorman Rugged Duty joints failed I before the trip, I assumed one of the other joints could be an issue as well as one of the U-joints.

Can’t say how many times the tools below have come in handy for ball joints and U-joints.

Bonus! I have 2 new bushing to refurbish the YJ knuckles I have sitting around.

Saving the bearings and hubs for tomorrow evening. Always have to Google the Yukon instructions as I forget the specs.

Went fishing- great night- caught one small one on a crappie jig -then threw lures into shrubs for fun. I guess I lost my Midnight Special
spinnerbait- Hard to tell when to slow the cast down in the dark 😅

Deleted the skid plate drop last night, looks like the PO had a weird makeshift nut welded on instead of a nutsert, hacked it off so now I only have 5 bolts. Going to address the rust this summer, might strip the whole thing and repaint.

Also finished up the DIY rear wiper, functions like factory with factory switches and squirts now… I think I should call her

Two things came UPS today. "The Big 7 Kit" I figured would be a good upgrade to go along with the winch that my wife gave me for Christmas.

The second is something I really didn't need for the Jeep but just wanted one for it. The police in New Jersey take great pride in their ability to set up speed traps in the most unlikely places. The favorite in my area is to hide behind something in the "off the main highway" side roads where speed limits range between 25 mph thru 50. They could be anywhere and change often. My other toy is a 2018 Challenger R/T Shaker, which has its own radar detector, so I can outfox them but they give me the "hawk eye" when I pass. Which worries me when I'm in the Jeep... no more.

Here in Va those are still illegal. I think we're the only state now. State police have radar detector detectors. :mad:I got caught with one by the state police. He asked how much I paid for it, as he was writing the ticket for having it. I told him I traded a fifth of liquor for it. He said that was a good deal and gave it back to me. The fine was $100. I told him it wasn't such a good deal now.

Replaced the hood to cowl seal.
The new seal 55174640AE (66") seated fender edge to fender edge along the cowl and the old seal (50") seated on horizontal edge of curve to edge of curve.
The new seal has more sealing material against the hood than the old seal (realizing that the old seal was compressed and dried out).

Found your conversation with the VA state trooper amusing for I have found the police here to be as pleasant as a tarantula. Each state has its benefits & misfortunes I guess. Will trade Virginia is for Lovers for the NJ Greetings Hombres.

Oh, the points I rung up in NJ from speed traps... Like the moment you cross the bridge onto LBI and the speed limit drops from 50 to 25 in the space of a block (and to 15 after Memorial Day) Bastards all.
