I am working to get this 2005 TJ street legal again. The airbag light is on the dashboard. All things are pointing to the clock spring. Started to remove the airbag and found this green plug that terminated in thin air. The wires feed into the wire harness through the steering wheel. Any ideas what used to be plugged into it? Thanks for any and all responses.

Someone pulled your airbag. Probably after it deployed.

I removed my passenger side one for a tablet holder.

Awesome, thx for the pic. Yes, that too was my first thought, cruise control, but my jeep does not have it, no associated controls on the dash. Would the factory install a harness with a wire dead ended like this? The only other thought would be that the wire harness was replaced pre-me.

Someone may have installed a new clockspring made for a jeep with cruise control. If you ever wanted to install cruise control you'd just need the correct switches and the actuator. The factory harness has all the connectors for cruise whether the jeep came with it factory or not.
