Donovan’s Reef staring John Wayne & Lee Marvin (mentioned earlier in the thread) with an old MB (or GPW) was also filmed in Kaua’i

i can't remember, but i think (at the time the move came out) the timeline didn't jive.
i dont think he couldn't have owned that refreshed XJ model - prior to leaving (and then getting stranded).
It would've had to have been a pre refreshed model.
could be wrong - but i think that was right (or something like that).
