I'm on a budget, I have seats to pay for, I have to take a deep breath before I pass. :sneaky:

Mixed feelings on this one, mainly due to my love of the old MB's. Appreciate the creativity and ingenuity, but I just hope the donor MB was beyond repair.

I'd hope they used a replacement body & grille for this. Not saying they did but I hope so.

1970: Ford Mustang “Lawman” arriving in the Vietnam. Only 2 of these "Lawman" Super BOSS 429 Mustangs were ever made by Ford for tour to U.S. troops in Vietnam, Japan, Guam, Hawaii, & Mainland military bases. It's the only Ford Made BOSS 429 Mustang that's automatic in the world,1200hp, runs a quarter mile in 8.4 seconds at 185mph. Top speed depends on how it's geared but it's well over 185mph.

2013: The "Lawman" shows up at Midwest Car Exchange for a little visit to shake the dust off the rafters and show all the other muscle cars who the real BOSS is.

What a cool piece of history to stop at our showroom. This was not for sale, just stopped for us to take a look and admire a piece of history.

Didn't they lose one of these cars? Like it fell out of the back of a cargo plane? I know most of them were destroyed in country, and only one or two came back, but I can't remember the whole story about them. Somewhere in Vietnam, there's probably an old man in a little fishing boat powered by a supercharged 429.

These crazy boats look fun.

Or help the driver park straight, either... :D

I was actually impressed with his parking choice. He chose the last spot in the row and parked within the lines, but to the outer most side of the spot. Less chance of some drunk asshole opening his passenger door into the side of his car. But, given the fact that it was me who ended up parking in the spot next to him, all bets are off when I'm the drunk asshole.

I'll grant him the end spot choice and he was within the lines. I'm just being a pedantic dick.

Is that one CGI? 🤔 Either way, it doesn't matter because I couldn't even afford the one they pulled from a lake. You see that bent fender? Yep, I can't afford it. :sneaky:

I thought the same at first glance (due to the soft appearance of the image), but believe it's actually a photo. Another photo of the car below and a link to a story in Hemmings on the same.

You can buy a spanking new one for only $250,000.00....though an original built back in the 1920's will cost you around 5x that. There are a number of cheap, poor replicas of the car out there, but Pur Sang builds them just like Bugatti did back in the day. It's actually quite impressive and adds some validity to the quarter schmill price tag.

If you're a fan of patina on old motorcars, how about this one...

Built by Bill "Maverick" Golden, the "Little Red Wagon" was a 1965 Dodge A100 pickup that wasn't just any drag racer—it was a wheel-stander, known for blasting down the quarter-mile with its nose pointed to the sky.

Initially, the A100 was built as a mid-engine truck for drag racing, powered by a monstrous 426 Hemi V8. But during testing, it revealed its true star power by popping up into a wheelie that stretched the length of the track.
Golden quickly realized that this accident was pure gold, and he turned the "Little Red Wagon" into a performance phenomenon, touring drag strips nationwide. Fans would come from miles around just to see it lift up and scream down the strip on its rear wheels.

The "Little Red Wagon" was more than just a showpiece; it set records, including being the first wheel-stander to run the quarter-mile in under 11 seconds.

It became an unforgettable part of drag racing history, showcasing that sometimes, the most thrilling rides come from unexpected places. Even today, the sight of that iconic red pickup, nose high in the air, brings a wave of nostalgia for those who watched it conquer drag strips in its glory days.
