Anyone have experience with them? I'm not generally a fan of Goodyear tires, but I kinda like what this one offers in a 35 (315/70r17). Its a lighter tire, at just over 50 lb each. Tread looks more like a hybrid than a true mud terrain (the M/T is apparently Max Traction), and its load range c, for those who care about such things. They are OE tires for Chevy Pick-ups and the Bronco.

For my uses, I believe a tire like this will suffice 90% of the time. I really try to stay out of the mud, but when its in the trail, I do go through it. I don't purposely seek it out. I've also been looking at the Toyo Open Country R/T and the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T. This goodyear is about 150 dollars less expensive per tire than those other two!

I am interested in this as well for the future. I have no experience, but I do remember reading on other forums about people bitching about all the stone chips coming from them on broncos. I don't know why it would be any different than any other tire though.

Yeah, my current tires throw stones so bad that it sounds like gun shots when they hit the fenders. Not really a concern for me, lol

Walmart is selling them for just over 200 a tire right now, tire rack is 252. That is cheaper than I can find them used as Bronco take offs. It’s pretty hard for me to wait and be patient for feedback, lol

I'm also seeing different tread patterns in pictures for the MT versions on Goodyears website. My step dads bronco came with the version you have pictured above.

Looks like an AT or RT.

I've been running them for a couple thousand miles now.
Got 'em cuz their cheap.
So far, they've been fine.
I ran some 5-7 trails and had no issues other than 1 V-notch that a couple guys had flopped on. I didn't flop, but I ended up taking the by-pass. Driver inexperience was more of an issue than the tire.
I'd read that their wet weather traction isn't the best, but I've got no complaints. Ride comfort is good. Noise is low. Wear, so far, looks good.
They run a bit narrow. More like an 11.50 than a 12.50.
They're a good choice for someone like me. My LJ is my DD, and at least 98% of my use is on road.
Would I buy them again? I'd be smart to, but maybe next time I'll get something more aggressive looking, just cuz.

Yeah, and?

And they call it an MT. Which means I’m just pointing out that whoever is in charge of deciding the parameters for the terrain type assigned to a tire seems like they've changed and are blending.

The smaller than normal MT spacing between tread blocks doesn’t look like it would be a good mid terrain. Looks like they would clog up with mud like an AT.

I haven’t tried the newer RT’s, but they might be good for a happy medium for those who are primarily onroad and occasional off road rocks.

Edit: scanning some RT pics from other tire manufacturers, these look comparable. I wouldn’t want them in mud. It would just cake in there.

I have a set on the new Canyon pickup we just got Monday. Dont know anything about them ,only have 60 miles on them. I think they are a C tire. 275/65/18 They look good though.

I know a couple folks with these on their Broncos. They were factory installed tires and the consensus from them is while the light weight seems like a plus, the tires show excessive wear, chewed up lugs, very quickly. I had considered them myself but after talking to them, they are off my list.

I went thru a pretty gnarly rock garden and didn'thave excessive chewed up lugs. I experienced that more with the Cooper Evolution MTs.

The image you posted look RT ish to me, which isn't necessarily bad because I'm on road enough these days that I wouldn't mind the lighter weight or the reduced noise. The voids are definitely wider than an AT and it has those ejector bars between the lugs and the lugs taper to a larger width at the base which are typical MT features.

The photo on the website looks less aggressive and less void-ey than what ships on the Broncos and looks less interesting to me. Maybe it's just being a 20" vs 17"?

I put on Mickey T Baja 33 12.5 15s about 3,000 miles ago and think they are great. I think Goodyear owns Cooper who owns Mickey Thompsons…I’ve done well with all over the years on different vehicles but really liked the look and so far performance of these tires.

There are supposedly two tread patterns. I also saw an R/T version.
