I ordered a new fuel pump and the wiring was wrong. Ok. I called Oreilleys. All the pumps they have are incorrect as well. They all have a single plug. My pump has two independent 2 prong plugs. One male. One female. Anyone ran into this ? What pump fits ?

yes I could cut and splice. No I don’t want to do that.

I'm guessing someone modified yours aready. OEM is only showing a single 4 wire plug Same for every model year I have looked up so far.

If you don't want to change everything out you can buy just the replacement fuel pump to swap into your sending unit. Bosch is the OEM pump and assembly manufacturer. They still make the pump itself but not the whole unit.

I gave up and assumed that someone had Frankenstein’d a different pump in it and did the cut, splice, solder, shrink route.

It's more likely that someone messed up the original 4 prong plug and used what they had available or could get to replace it.

I appreciate that you believed every pump at Oreillys was wired wrong...before learning something new about your Jeep.😀

PO is a jerk face for not doing it right.

Hey. A mans gotta know his limitations 😂. In my defense I have learned that there’s some weird 1/2 year shit on the 97’s. Some parts I have to look up for a 95 YJ or the connectors won’t be right.
