Does anybody know if there's a gasket for oil filter adapter on 2.4 2004.it bolts to engine then filter screws to adapter.

I would assume something would go between the two surfaces. dont have a 2.4 though so I am not certain.

Factory parts manual doesnt appear to show anything other than you can purchase a pump & you can purchase an adapter but no mention of any seals.

No luck searching the web either about a filter adapter or seal either.

When browsing new aftermarket pumps online though, it appears that the Enginetech ep346 comes with 4 o rings, most other pump kits come with only 2.

Im wondering if the relief cuts on the pump side might be what 2 of the 4 o rings are intended to fit into prior to the adapter being installed 🤷‍♂️

Are those stock parts? The 2004 parts list makes it look like it's a single piece, although it's called out in two parts (numbers 1 and 2 below):

I can't answer the control arm/oil filter interference question, but regarding your original question, I've looked everywhere I can think of to look, and I can't find any reference to what seals those two pieces. I guess a call (or better, a trip) to a dealer to talk with an old tech that worked on the 2.4L engine when it was new-ish is in order...

Also, please be sure to come back to this thread and update it when you do figure it out so that other 2.4L owners in the future may benefit.

Hi I did figure out with call to jeep dealership.o rings 2 o rings one for oil in one for oil out after traveling through filter.no gasket between block and oil filter adapter but suggested a little sealant wouldn't hurt it.thanks for trying to help.also asked mechanic if oil filter would interfere with upper control n he explained that is y oil filter is headed back towards fire wall due to control only pivots up n down on front at axel.the rear of it stays stationary.

Did you by chance get them or a part number for the o-rings? Im sure the question will come up along the road for someone else one day and having a part number that worked for you would be nice for someone else to stumble upon in the same situation.
