I like the tape guards to keep the black strip from below the doors when closed (I know there are versions that stay inside the door and I'm eyeing them). I've eyed 3M clear tape options but haven't pulled the trigger.
Long statement to say — I feel @Cooper Smith in knowing it needs attention and haven't picked a solution.
I put on a set of Crown black SS guards. Took off the original tape first. Stuck them on with 3M 1/2" industrial double faced tape. No screws.
They're getting scraped up a bit but doing great and they don't show with the doors closed.
