What did you do to your TJ today?

Welp I just gave my block the shittiest paint job ever, I powerwashed it wire wheeled it for 10 minutes and went to town lol😆

I wanted to mask the freeze plugs this and that but my goal is to get this damn thing running by tomorrow,I have my doubts but I atleast wanna have the jeep assembled enough to where I gotta spend a day to get it running but I'll see😶

The head and valvecover looks dusty from me airing out all the dust from me wire wheeling the block.

Side note if you get a "Performance head" from Clearwater Cylinder heads this crown automotive aluminum valve cover will not clear the bigger valve springs ! So you can't even bolt the valve cover down....
I don't think it even clears the stock valve cover either, along with the ARP headstuds

Don't forget some kind of circuit protection - that high current circuit runs all the way to the front of the Jeep. Both this 500 amp fuse and the solenoid can be bypassed quickly in the field if they happen to fail. I secured the wire end with a strap as well, you don't want to leave it loose as shown here.

Thanks again, Zorba! I finally got around to installation today -

Reason, for those not paying attention: If you have a winch, you have a direct connection from your front end to your battery, with cables that can carry very high current. If someone crashes into the front of your Jeep, you may have a direct short-circuit from your big battery to ground. This will result in lots of sparks and very high temperature and could result in a fire or battery explosion.
For $9, one nut and bolt, and about 20 minutes, you can protect your battery, but still be able to winch as needed.

Here is one source for the fuse:

I wouldn't trust that fuse mounted unsupported like that. Those MEGA fuses are not very strong, and vibration over time will likely break it. They make holders for those. I'm partial to the one Blue Sea Systems makes (have two on my LJ):

Ditto that, I supported mine with a strap on the other end - but I'm liking that Blue Sea holder. Overpriced like everything else they make, but good stuff!

Got the speedo dialed in for the 31 inch tires. SpeedoDRD makes it VERY easy, punch in the numbers on their website and it customizes the directions for you. Took about 15 seconds to do, so easy even a Belly Dancer can do it - and it beats diddling around with pots.

Nice web based walk through, input your numbers and
it customizes the directions for your particular situation.
Took about 15 seconds to accomplish - easy-peasy!
Speedometer now reads correctly.

Removed the tow hitch under the bumper. No pics, but found some rust so I wire wheeled, sanded, cleaned, primed and painted that area of the frame on both sides. Was going to add holes in those areas of the Fram but they are already there. I can only assume that the nut holder thingy on the inside of the Frame was collecting water. I'll try to do the inside sometime in the spring. It's not a lot of rust, but it's there.

Welp I had to work today at my job, left early and cause of that I couldn't get the jeep fully assembled and running but for the meantime I slapped on the exhaust manifolds on,intake, alternator, water, pump

So she looks like she got an engine now💪🏽

Ate dinner slapped on the rest of the stuff including the MORE bombproof motor mount bushings which were kinda tricky to put on but it only took me 15 minutes😁......helps that the front clip is off 😅
