I had to Google that one. Let me know how it works. I can't pull up to traffic lights without bending way down to see the light.

They work. (y)

I've had them on two other cars but couldn't find the one I removed from my bimmer when I sold it after buying the LJ, so had to snag another. I'm 6' 5" and have to move the seat back pretty far in most vehicles, always need to lean forward and crane my neck to see the lights as a result.

Yep basically. This operates on the same principle as a lighthouse light, it's just a stick-on rubbery plastic fresnel lens. I got one for a MINI over 15 years ago and have put them in every car since.

That’s too funny. Just last night I watched a Youtube video on the development of the Fresnel lens.

Must be my seating position where I don't notice the problem much in my TJ but you gave me flashbacks to my 2011 Mini Cooper S. Had to sit far enough back and with that steep windshield I couldn't see shit

I was thinking that’s weird I don’t have a problem seeing traffic lights in my TJ until I read your 6‘ 5” 😂
Being only 5’’ 5” us Hobbits don’t have that problem 😉

Not only does it put my head higher relative to the windshield opening, but because of longer legs, the seat has to move back farther which compounds the issue. At this point in my life, it's just standard operating procedure, but being shorter would have made life a bit easier in many ways. I met a guy once who was 6' 9", can't imagine being another 4" taller. Our world was not designed to suit people much over 6' (if that).

I will be ordering one of these magic lenses

I think you'll come to appreciate it. (y)

Day (1.10, 8 hours in) of my harmonic balancer replacement that led to a cam swap

Received some parts and decided to clear coat em,don't worry I masked the opda and plugged the bolt holes with silicone plugs just removed them before the clear cures😁

Other than that i Got the exhaust & intake manifold off the engine might take them to get Media-blasted if I can find someone that's available since i need my jeep to drive by Monday!

But that's it, thats all I was able to do since
I spent the whole day on the road running errands... 😌

I'm 6'5" (shrunk from 6'6"), but mostly upper body, so head room is my main issue. I had to remove spacers from under my seats when I first bought my Jeep. This gave me more headroom and 8 new !/2" drive sockets?!?

Ya'll don't laugh at me. I see some remarkable skills on this site that I admire and respect. I don't have skills remotely like any of that.

I stirred my inner Tim Taylor after replacing my rear washer motor. That motivated to change my plugs, all six of them. The coil rail had always intimidated me but I was feeling spunky.

I got the rail off per this very helpful video. I replaced the plugs per the recommendation of this excellent thread.

The first time I reassembled everything my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. I took that as a sign that I did something wrong. My best guess was that coil rail. I took it off and reinstalled. No Christmas tree this time, but she was running a little rough. I took the rail off again and cleaned it really well with the air compressor and some WD40. I think someone put dielectric grease in the plug boots. It was all hard and crumbly. I took the back plug out just to see how it looked. It looked fine. The first time I was putting it in it was hard to do without getting gunk on it. I had cleaned all the gunk and so it went in clean. I went real slow and put the coil rail back on.

Three times was a charm. I got better with the install each time. She is now running like a sewing machine. It did not really need plugs, but I am sure I am getting about 6.45% more power and almost 9.3% better fuel economy now.

First time I took my coil rail off, I had a cylinder 5 misfire. Because the boot for that plug didn't go over the top of said plug, but bent aside. I learned that one needs to check all six plug to make sure those boots actually are where they're supposed to be...
