Well I was just driving down I-70 when all the sudden it downshifted and won't shift anymore. I can't get it to rev over 3k RPM now. Is my transmission done or is something else going on? I'm also kinda in the middle of nowhere.

Well looks like a need a new exhaust manifold. I'm assuming this would be enough for it to go into limp mode.

Heat resistant duct tape.

Actually that is kinda what we're gonna try. Exhaust repair tape and JB weld.
Did you hit something?
Nope. I think it's been cracked for a while now but it was in a place I couldn't see and never got around to trying to find it. That came back to bite me I'm ass. Just heard a noise about 30 minutes before that I assumed was a rock hitting my fender and thought it was making some weird noises but wasn't sure.

I'd avoid that if at all possible, as you will gas the cab bad. I had a loose exhaust bolt gas us (windows up) to the point we were getting dizzy and headaches on a 5-10 minute drive. It wasn't even loose enough to make an audible tick, but that was the only thing my exhaust guy could find. He tightened a few and all has been fine since then. I suggest you find a local exhaust shop and let them band-aid it back together, even if it cost you $100.

That's what I'm looking at currently. The problem is that the closest sizable towns are 15 miles in either direction and I need to at least get this thing somewhat drivable. Thankfully I'm at least mostly naked right now so I wouldn't even have noticed the leak if it hadn't gone into limp mode.

I had to think longer than I should have about what your state of dress had to do with anything before realizing you were talking about the Jeep.

Are there any kind of repair shops nearby that maybe could tack it in place for you?
