Running half / no doors and no windows, pulling up to a buttoned up Jeep at a stoplight

I'm noticing a lot of people in this thread taking it way too seriously. My whole attitude from the beginning was clearly self-deprecating, acknowledging that it's immature and ridiculous.

I really like to see/read the different perspectives from state to state, climate to climate.

I've spent enough time in southern California to know they shouldn't even install tops on jeeps destined for dealerships there.

In Colorado I found there to be a distinct topless season, so I kept a hardtop for winter. In Oklahoma I find that there are enough topless days in every month that I don't need a hard top, not even sure I need full doors. I suspect I'll probably run windows on as much over the winter due to cold as I did in summer due to 110 degree heat.

My case is kind of the opposite. My LJ was purchased new in Ontario 🇨🇦 without a hard top which is very unusual. The previous owner tracked one down, but the problem is that non hard top models came with none of the parts needed for the rear window washer and defroster. I've assembled all of the parts (switches, double pump washer fluid reservoir, electrical and fluid lines, etc.) and installed most of them. I just need to do the final hook up.

I find it funny that all Canadian Jeeps come with a block heater but in my case, I got one that didn't come with a hard top.

Still hanging on. It's been chilly for a month but today we hit 70 so I took the family out to look at Christmas lights.

Cold again tomorrow and nothing warm in the forecast so I might finally give in and put the windows on this week.

The beauty of having a Sunrider...
It's mid to low 40's. Flop the top open at a stop light and enjoy.

Seems the JKs and newer just don't get it. Buttoned up tight year round. Those doors are heavy so I'll give them that, but at least remove the windows..

That's been my MO for 5 years now. I'll never go back to a top without a sunrider.

For Christmas lights I pulled it all the way off for max visibility. Though I'm not looking forward to putting it back on...those straps never really want to go between the speaker pod and the roll bar padding without loosening up the speaker pod bolts.

When I had my 2012 JKU it would take me 45 minutes to go from full doors to half doors and flip the top back. Got rid of it and bought the TJ for 1/3 the price and now I just keep it as a topless, 1/2 doors for those jeep days.

My father and I get the hardtop and doors off his jk in probably about 30 minutes. It’s a pain, so he usually only does it for a month or so during the summer, and once in a while will take it off for a week during spring/fall. Otherwise, he keeps it all closed up. Thinking I might get him a bikini top for Christmas so that he can keep the top off for longer periods of time.

As for me, I’m constantly taking doors and top off every day when I feel like it since I’m the teen in the family and dont get a spot in the garage, so I don’t wanna leave my jeep open outside overnight…

Bought the Jeep in May, took the top off then and it hasn't been back on yet. If it's raining or in 40s I'll throw the full doors back on but other than that wide open.

I have a hoist to lift the top of the JKU, I can get naked in about 30 minutes, maybe less. But this summer I left the JK buttoned up and the TJ was naked & parked in the garage until literally this past Friday. Of course I also added another TJ to the mix, so I'm out of spots to park & also hang doors. First world problems for sure...but then again I live in the first world so what sort of problems would you expect I have?
