Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I finally got the radiator back in. Had it all together yesterday and some how pinched the bottom of the water pump gasket. That's after getting the radiator back in and realizing I didn't put the shroud in first. Oh well, getting good at r&r of everything though. Took it for a little road trip around the block and all seems good.

Fluid Film inside the torque boxes. Removed the factory side steps which have been broken and repaired half a dozen times. Cleaned up the frame rails where the OE steps mounted, painted and installed the mounting bolts with a dab of anti-seize. Installed a set of Body Armor side step/sliders. I’m not likely to ever use them as a tru slider so they are perfect for my use case.

Doors off for the day.. winter is around the corner so gotta get as many last licks as I can.

yesterday we put the top up, screwed in the door surrounds & tossed the bikes on the back for a nice ride down the Schuylkill River Trail, then hit town for some seasonal microbrewed "Ivan's Spiced Ale", phenomenal stuff, they've been brewing it for the past month or so & I'm sopping up as much as I can get before it gets kicked for whatever will follow, which will also be good, this place (Conshohocken Brewery) doesn't miss. Daughter is coming home to visit next weekend so I grabbed a 4 pack to go for her & the son-in-law to sample, hopefully it's as good as it is on tap:

with my recent purchase of the vintage Schwinn (79), the girlfriend's interest was piqued so she sought out & found one of her own, damn these things are fun

Your half doors match. Did you file the correct paperwork with @AndyG to run those?

Actually if you look closely you’ll see they don’t, the TJ has a factory flame red paint job with factory top coat, the half doors have a family-room paint job with a sad ass topcoat that, depending on which angle you’re looking at them, is as flat as an emaciated prepubescent birthing person bearing no real similarity to the rig, so I think I’m clear on the paperwork

Put the fuel injector insulation around injector #3 on the 1997 in the hopes that it will cure my P0303. Moved the ZJ steering off the 97 over to the 02, put a new Rough Country tie rod (and new ends) on the 97, and used the bleepin jeep tool to do the alignment on both jeeps. Also worked out the trigonometry to prove to myself what the toe in measurement needs to be.

Installed a new rear bumper on the 97, only to remember that I already had a spacer on my spare tire mount since the 33" tire was rubbing on the OEM bumper. I don't want to use another spacer, so I'm left with either (a) spare tire delete (b) new bracket/hinge to raise the mount (c) body lift. Probably gonna go with option b but not sure yet. Need to see what domino effect a body lift is going to cause.

Then XJ buddy bought a 2000 TJ with 3.07 axles....swapped in some 4.10 axles and all that implies, which didn't end up being nearly as hard as we expected. The control arms & track bar didn't fight us as hard as they normally do. Waiting on a track bar flag nut from Black Magic to complete the project.

I told you bring it to Martinsburg and I’ll hook you up for free. I’m almost finished with my engine.

I really appreciate that offer. I'm just not the type of person that takes help. @Irun knows that with his free battery offer. Thanks to you too.
p.s. If @AndyG wants to give me one of his white Jeeps, I might revisit my priorities. ;)

That's the gas tank skid. There are many aftermarket replacements. Savvy's is highly regarded, but costly. There are two models of the OEM skid. The one on later models is considered a better option.
