What did you do to your TJ today?

A little more test fitting was done today. I’ll contact the instruction manual tomorrow to make sure I did everything correctly and then proceed with the remainder of the installation.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Lots of time at the lathe and the mill but after much time spent measuring and setting up I am very pleased with how the new rotor and hub assembled. As a bonus I now have a little bit more thread on the new studs. The customer service at BMB has been great!

    1984 Barth 28

Sealed up the rear axle this weekend. Lubelocker for the win. Pinion seal and fresh oil. While this rig has lots of maintenance records, I can help but think it was consistently the job of the apprentice to work on it. There’s signs. Lucky for me I had a spare and replaced the damaged ring from...

    Axle bearing and seals

Can’t say I have used AI for any advice. I source actual data to get parts. My sister text me yesterday asking about a hand full of parts her car needed according to Google AI and I had to explain to her that she was wasting money and how to correctly diagnose the issue. Blows my mind how people...

    Arizona 87-89 Jeep YJ knuckles

Last efforts to sell the knuckles. If you’re in the area and can pick them up, they are free. Otherwise they keep looking at the scrap pile and I’m about to let them jump in.

    Bent steering knuckle

Wait, what? Did someone say they need YJ knuckles? I think I have the last set if that’s the case. Otherwise I’ll have some TJ knuckles available in the future but I am a solid 5 hours from the OP.

RockJock CurrectLync steering system worn out after only 1.5 years

Didn’t you just bend the knuckle? I feel like that is excessive load your steering is under if that is the case.

    Poison Spyder constructive criticism link

Poison Spyder decided to make a comeback and apparently it was not till after the roll out they realized the TJ crowd waiting on something. They sent out an email asking for constructive criticism if you have anything to add. Likely a good time to tell them what you didn’t like about the old...

Barnett cover: is this a problem?

My 2 cents. It’s copper, it’s a little crushed and works fine so long as the line is not completely collapsed. Play around with it. Move it up and install the cover a few times until you find a place that it clears both the cover and the bearing cap. The cap has a curve to it. Move the line...

    Transmission cooler hoses part number

Sounds like she was running low on fluid for a bit to long. I learned years ago that transmissions ain’t hard to deal with when it comes to internals. The tricky part is the electrical. If you burned it up you have 2 options. 1) Used replacement 2) Rebuild My crack head brother in-law had been...

42RLE torque converter clutch noise after service

I doubt just changing the fluid will make any difference. ATF+4 is not going to break down as easy and will handle the day to day operation but a lesser AFT can make the transmission perform fine for a short time. I would suspect you have other issues and would consider you likely have other...
