I think the PCM is acting up

2005 Wrangler 6 cylinder manual transmission. One day I'm driving and I get the "bad camshaft position sensor" CEL. If I turn the engine off and restart it, it will drive fine. Another time: "bad crankshaft position sensor". Same thing, car drives fine after restart. And a couple of days ago...

Help Me Install The Oil Pump Drive Assembly (OPDA)

2005 six-cylinder Jeep. Short recap on how I got here: got a "bad camshaft position sensor" CEL, replaced it (only the sensor), Jeep ran fine for a few days, then got another CEL for the same problem, took the camshaft position sensor out and the wheel had impacted it and damaged it. Not sure...

Camshaft position sensor: which one should I buy?

2005 Wrangler Rubicon. Engine started sputtering under acceleration and CEL came on. Code P0344 (camshaft position sensor). I read that "only get Mopar", but it appears that Mopar is no longer available. So what should I do? Autozone sells a couple of brands (Dorman and Duralast). NAPA also...

    Blinking check engine light

What I don’t understand is: why didn’t the computer store the code?

    Blinking check engine light

Today I start driving and within a minute the CEL came on blinking. I immediately stopped, waited for a few minutes, then I started the engine again and this time there was no CEL. Drove home, connected the OBD2 reader and it said “no codes”. Any suggestions of what this could mean? Thanks in...

Cargo net or some kind of mesh to prevent my doggie from invading the front?

My dog does this thing where she tries to come up between the front seats to visit. I think I’d like to install a cargo net or mesh behind the front seats, attached to the roll bar to keep her in the back. It doesn’t need to be strong, just “something” to keep her from barging in. Any...

Aren't jounce bumpers kind of useless?

It seems to me that the OEM “jounce bumpers” are soft enough that they wouldn’t actually do anything, no? The way it’s designed I suppose the function is to soften the hit of the cup against the spring perch. I just don’t see that happening with the hundreds of lbs of force applied to those...

What is this thing on the side of my Jeep?

What is this thing on the side of my Jeep?

2005 Rubicon. I'm referring to the black metal plate wrapping around the lower edge of the body. Is that meant to protect against rocks? Is it factory-installed or aftermarket? I must say that it doesn't look very beefy.

My radio is draining 0.5 amps when it's off

Thanks for all that information. I think there might be something wrong with the ignition switch. According to the manual you’re only supposed to be able to remove the key from the “lock” position, but in my car I can remove the key from the “off” position if I want to.

My radio is draining 0.5 amps when it's off

Holy crap, I just realized that I had turned the key all the way to the "accessories on" position. If I turn the key to the first stop, the current draw is zero. Now what I don't understand is what is using the 0.5 amps? Even in the "accessories on" position, the radio is still off, interior...
