And So It Begins 04 Rubicon

So it begins, and Red Dawn. Is someone a fan of LOTR?

    Just.Thorne's Tank Green LJ Build

The ZJ parts come bare metal and more than one person has installed them like that only to have them rust out instantly. Spray bombing the threads, the clamps, the ball joints, castle nuts etc is the way to go. The threads are large enough anyways that they won't jam up.

Best lifting recipe for 33” tires

My cat does the same thing and it drives me crazy. Then I started putting towels and blankets on the front bumper, fenders and hood. They know they will slip and fall if their nails grab the towels. They can still jump onto the spare tire and get to the hardtop from there but atleast my bodywork...

    ZJ Tie Rod Conversion

Ah it's coming back to me now, you are correct that it's not a ball joint, however you can't usually buy this stud separately from the stabilizer anyways....I have reused this stud and driven thousands of miles without incident and it's just a steering stabilizer anyways, the least critical...

    ZJ Tie Rod Conversion

By tapered bolt are you referring to the ball joint stud? I dont believe that is one time use only. You should be able to reuse all of the hardware. Just make sure you torque to spec, do not attempt to back off the castle nut to get the pin to line up. Instead just click the torque wrench...

Next time don't slow down but don't speed up either. Let people suffer the consequences of their actions, don't enable them. 🙃 These people will never see a trail so they have to flex on their grocery run over a 4 inch curb.....speaking of 4 inches 🤫

    Track bar

With a 2 inch front lift I would use a stock track bar over a RC any day of the week.

Speeding ticket: go to court or just pay it?

I may be ignorant of policies in other states, however I have always used a ticket fixer even for minor infractions and never have to worry about insurance rates or my driving record. If you try to fight it by yourself and fail, that shit is on your record permanently. Going to court seems like...

    The official idiot driver thread

No one knows how to pass on two lane here in NY or they consider it offensive to another's sensibilities. In New York rural areas usually mean a lot of trees and hills, not many open stretches. On a 2 lane county/state route most people are going about 50mph in a 55, unaware of what the speed...

    The official idiot driver thread

If you are driving from one part of a busy metro to another part of it no amount of speeding during traffic hours is gonna save you any time unless you're on a sports bike lane splitting everything. It's not about saving time it's about basic etiquette and spacing out of vehicles, something that...

I agree that it doesnt make sense to be ticketed for being in the left lane going a mph under the speed limit. If a commercial vehicle is going 75 in the right lane and you're going 79 you should have every right to pass. It should be keep right except to pass, and also there should be a...

Looking to sell 2006 TJ, help with valuation

The Jeep looks solid but the market is destroyed. You might be better off holding on for a couple years if that's possible. Use an endoscope on the inside of the frame if you haven't already, and get the surface rust between the frame and center skid wire wheeled off, should be able to sell...

    Different truck, same issue (rust)

Rust you're seeing is typical for the area. All you have to do is a drive through a snow storm once and not wash your truck of course after 4 years it will look like that.
