It’s done it ever since I’ve had it. Some days it’s louder than others. Would redline fluid quiet it down some? I haven’t had it long enough to do a complete fluid change on everything.Welcome to the NV3550 transmission... they sound like a rock tumbler at idle. Mine did it and most others do as well.
I definitely don't miss mine, glad I swapped it out for an auto.

What trans did you go to?Welcome to the NV3550 transmission... they sound like a rock tumbler at idle. Mine did it and most others do as well.

Does it make the noise when the clutch is put in or only when it's out? I want to say mine doesn't make a noise when the clutch is in but does when it's out. I'll need to start it up to confirm.Have a pretty good racket that’s louder some days than others. Any input would be great. Rev it up, the sound dissipates. Posting this on the fly, sorry for lack of info.

I don’t guess I’ve paid it much attention. Only at idle when clutch is out when I have noticed.Does it make the noise when the clutch is put in or only when it's out? I want to say mine doesn't make a noise when the clutch is in but does when it's out. I'll need to start it up to confirm.
NV3550 here. mine sounds like a bunch of marbles bouncing around.
Noisy when idling in neutral, silent when pressing in the clutch pedal.
Seems mines sometimes a quiet box of marbles bouncing around and others pretty loud box of marbles as described above.
no other problems otherwise. fluids been clean when draining out. was red unknown fluid when I drained it the first time from PO, but I replaced it with penz synchromesh and didnt notice any immediate changes or long term changes in noise
