I thought it was five now, Candyman.......Oh shit!Just don't say his name a third time lol.
I'd rather tell him we don't install the brakes and shafts until the axle is hung under the rig. Much easier to move around that way. Plus you don't have to worry about tipping it off the jackstands trying to tighten any of the bolts.Tell him you don't have to remove the axle to install the brakes. Then re-hire him for $20 an hour with Covid work prices. Target pays $15 to start for idiots.
If you powder coated the knuckles, you have to remove the powder on the surfaces where the caliper saddles bolt up. If you don't, the powder will let them slip and work loose. Same for the paint on the saddles. It also has to be removed under the bolt heads.514s, powdered the housings along with knuckles. Lower lift on to axles to bolt. Dont get much easier.
Masked off during powder/paint. Clean bare metal. Caliper paint rarely poses any issues due to it being thin and applying 3 coats lightly each time. Ive never had an issue with caliper paint. But all contact points for bolting were masked during both powder and paint. If you powder coated the knuckles, you have to remove the powder on the surfaces where the caliper saddles bolt up. If you don't, the powder will let them slip and work loose. Same for the paint on the saddles. It also has to be removed under the bolt heads.
I'm more than capable of getting the knuckles and what not coated. The masking off of the surfaces that can't have powder on them is too much to deal with.
That's racist.I should add a big thank you for already having rotors black. Saved me a hell of alot of time for sure. So, THANK YOU
Ah ok. That was my disconnect in this conversation. Equating it’s use in one application the same as the other…You can toss them on the stock knuckles since there is no caliper saddle that has to center on the rotor.
Everyone in LC is hoping they're right... "better them than us"Hope these weather men are wrong about this one
