I’m sure this has been discussed time and agin but I just purchased a 1997 wrangler with a 3” coil lift. I do no off-roading at all, purely for looks. I like a beefy tire with a deeper rim. It’s a 4 cylinder geared stock I am sure. What’s the biggest and widest good looking set of tires and rims (I was thinking 33 or 35 on 15 or 16 inch rims).

31x10.50x15 is the absolute max you want with the 4 cylinder.

Yes I'm VERY serious.
Even 31's will make your 5th gear useless in a lot of hwy driving but you can live with 31's.

33's??? No way in hell.

You just turned low power into NO power.

Yeah, with the angry squirrels I wouldn't go beyond a 32. That is unless you have a high tolerance for terrible on-road performance.
 
Ok, well that’s going to have to change my thinking. It has 235/75/16s on it now. Would I benefit from going down to a 15” rim and can I still get a little bit of a beefy look out of it? What can I do to help with the stance. I hate the look of lifted Jeeps with undersized tires. I will be driving in the city and on highways with 65mph speed limits for no more than 20-30 minutes at a time.
 
I'd go to 15" and the fattest tire you can get on there - probably an 8" rim with a 12.5" tire. MTs look more aggressive and you could change the wheel backspacing to widen the stance on the new set.

15x8 wheel with 3.75 Back Spacing.

That's the key

Then run a 31x10.50x15 mud tire.

Will look good and not be so irritating to drive.

2.5 inch lift.
 
You may have a lot of time to figure it out right now, most of the popular brand Big Tires are out of stock with about a 90 day back order. Even some of the lesser know brands are not available right now and if you do find some they are wayyyyy over priced. Good luck
