What did you do to your TJ today?

It's been nearly a month, I'm guessing, since I garaged it to replace the clutch/flywheel and tend to some other small bits needing attention. Headed up the mountains outside of town to break in the clutch and put some miles on it before I start venturing out with it again. All the little things are adding up to making this thing like new and a joy to drive.
Maybe being over 50 and "been there, done that", I'm thoroughly enjoying just keeping it maintained well and driving it, as is.

I know me, if I start down that road of more lift, bigger tires, and all that goes with it....I'll want to use it as it's intended and I want to keep this one as my baby. LOL!!

Where is that, Todd?

Ordered my +12 main feed wire for the winch. I can actually use the negative that came with it, and the short positive that came with it will run from the battery to the shut off solenoid on the firewall. So I just needed solenoid to winch.

For whatever it’s really worth, since I have the metalcloak lift, I stopped at their “booth” here in Moab and put BlackSheep on the CTI machine. It looks decent, I have room to pull a puck from the rear bump stops.

I’ll find out what it really does when I actually get on a trail that requires any flex.
It was free so I thought “why not”.
Looking to see if I see any of my buddys in the background. I have a few that are out there.

Finally got the skid up, control arms adjusted and front track bar set. Rear axle has shifter an inch and a half towards the passenger side. I tried the jump on the bumper to no avail. I guess it’s time to buy 6 ton jack stands and man handle the axle over.

Finally finished replacing the rear axle shaft bearing and seal yesterday. I know I need to remove the rear diff cover and replace the oil with exactly 3 quarts but I just don't have the motivation to do it yet. It's going to be a pain in the butt so I filled about 0.75 quarts more of oil and tried to start it up. I knew I was having problems with the battery so I had to jump it and I had planned on going to advance auto for them to test it. After start up it was having a problem idling it just wanted to die so I carefully drove over to the store. I think that's the most I've used my thumb throttle so far. I had to keep the engine revved up so it wouldn't die at the red lights.

Advance auto tested the battery and said it was fine. They tested the alternator and said the diodes were bad so I buy a remanufactured alternator and a serpentine belt. Came home and replaced both and now it's running just fine.

Installed a new head unit and speakers. Big upgrade over stock. Love the Bluetooth connectivity and microphone

Ordered Artec upper spring relocation brackets. Having a "small" issue with spring arching in the rear. I knew it was like this when I bought it, but didn't realize it was this bad until I pulled a wheel. Relocating the uppers and moving the axle forward a little should resolve it. Terrible setup by the original owner. Should be a pretty simple fix.

I don't love that location for something like that. If it was a light or something then ok.
Seems like it might get bumped by a kid, dog, passenger, etc.
I realize you just cut a hole, but I prefer my position (not that I'm the one that installed this).

Went and saw it at the shop (had to drop off wheels/tires).

Good news is that the front end is already underway!!
