i looked at ECGS, and found quite a few not so happy reviews. isn't the ECGS Dana 44 just a stubby JK axle with TJ C's or ends?

we can get jk rear axles for 300$ around here.
and we got small racing outfits all over the state. i had quotes to cut down a JK axle to 60.5" for 300$. the issue then becomes who's got shafts to fit it?

Could you point me to some? I'm considering buying the 489 and I haven't seen much negative feedback. I would like to read other perspectives and opinions.
AFAIK the ECGS 489 is a JK Dana44 center with the larger ring gear, and the rest is theirs. Here's the page for their 30spline version. They also make a 35 spline version, but only offer OX lockers with that package.
