Should I paint my replacement water pump before I install it? (My old 1985 Ford F150 had the water pump and intake painted along with the engine when they went down the assembly line.)

Where these originally painted from the factory, or left bare?

Factory water pumps are bare metal. It wouldn’t look bad painted though.

Thanks. That is what I thought.

Besides the valve cover and oil pan painted black, where any other engine parts painted?
Nope, not on any of my TJs at least. Just the valve cover and oil pan. Everything else is bare metal.

I find it very useful down the road to give any aluminum castings a quick shot of clear wheel coating, the alternator and compressor I installed over 6 years ago still look clean and fresh.
