What did you do to your TJ today?

Not a whole lot, although I continue to note no water leaks despite continuing rain - which makes me *VERY* happy. I'm cautiously optimistic that I have this fixed.. I got a screaming deal on a pintle hook on eBay, it was supposed to be here last Thursday, but it arrived today. Goddess only knows where it had been as the USPS certainly couldn't tell me - the package looked like it had been to BFE and back! Its been cleaned up and will get primer and paint (black) before mounting.

The fog lites have become more of a project than anticipated, one of them had a cracked rear shell, and as Davey's wanted $37 just for the backshell, I elected to repair the one I have - it came out good. Ready to re-wire and re-assemble/install. Received my stand along fog lite switch too. Need to run a #10 to the rear inside area to mount an aft DC outlet - lots of little things.

Waiting on parts for my wife's car, once that's taken care of, the Jeep goes into the shop for a new oil pan and gasket - doing that job on my back in the Florida heat without benefit of a lift doesn't appeal to me. Not the sexiest job, but it needs doing rather badly. Will probably have the OPDA replaced while its there.

Replaced all four balljoints and got the Black magic brakes 16” big brake kit spindles, bearings , rotors, pads and calipers installed. Just need to bleed the brakes tomorrow and do the break in on the pads. Super excited to have some safe stopping power with these big ole tires and bead lock wheels.

The puppers is ready for wheeling
The jeep. Is not.

I'm sure if I did this engine swap I'd gain some power

Oops. Wasn't done. Nice low note with the MBRP setup.View attachment 164334View attachment 164335
I didn't put the tip on because it ends up in the crush zone behind the tire. I'll go to my local muffler shop and have a piece bent to exit straight out the back.
Went to my local muffler shop with a piece of 2.5 in exhaust pipe for a custom tail piece. $5 later and I have something to weld up. Made sure to give it a 20 deg baloney cut on the end. Hopefully I have it in the least susceptible area for damage.

Oh and lrt me give a shout out to Mach 1 Muffler. If you're in the Spokane, WA area this is the shop you want.

And the other thing is, they weren't tight. Or tight enough. A 5 year old having had a wrench in their hand for the first time in their life could have loosened them.

Edit: ordered fender flares today.
Ugh!

That reminds me...I haven't checked my plugs in a while

Finally had some half decent weather, albeit muggy as hell, so I took advantage of it and threw the soft top on. During the process I remembered how bad of shape my zippers are in, what a PITA. A new top is in my future lol

Your pup seems to have grown a rather bad case of LJ on his nose...you should probably have that removed.

Did you have to cut the sway bar cover to mount that winch? I want to get a winch, but I also want to keep that cover without permanently disfiguring it.

Yes, you have to cut the cover. Why do you care about cutting it? Do you plan on removing the winch at some point? You could always just remove the cover and run without it.

I, personally, like the stock-ish look of the Jeep, hhnce why I have no plans to lift the Jeep. Similarly, I like the way the cover looks right now.
Just been on and off on deciding to get a winch, seeing if there's any way to add one without cutting that cover.
Thanks, though!

If you throw a winch on the front you're not going to be able to see that cover anyway. The only reason I put it back on is so I didn't have to look at the rusty swaybar mounts. I think you're over thinking it but I also don't really care how mine looks so I'm the wrong person to have that conversation with. I cut the cover with my pocket knife and no measurements.

You can purchase a cover on ebay for $40 so just budget a used cover to cut into your winch cost.

Probably less than $40 on marketplace. Some one was giving one away a while ago.
