Flush mounted LED pods for reverse lights?

So I’m thinking I want to ad flush mounted led Pods to the rear of my Jeep under my led taillights. Like the 2” to 4” flush mounted floods you see in some bumpers. Anyone done this? If so do you think it’s too much light? Any brand suggestions. I don’t need rigid lights that are a few hundred but I do want a good quality light.

I thought about doing it that way but I’m leaning toward just making them just from the reverse light switch. I used to have one back there on my old tire carrier that was on a relay and switch but I rarely remembered to turn it on.

The lights are on a on-off-on switch.

Not quite what you want to do, but mine has these little bars connected to the backup lights. They are one of my most appreciated additions, especially now when daylight is in short supply.

Can be very annoying and/or embarrassing in parking lots, on the trail, or even to neighbors across the street.

Another option is to have a multi position switch that allows; with reverse in one position, override on, and off (for parking lots).

I added mine specifically for parallel parking in the city and backing out of parkng spaces. They are certainly noticable, but not at all annoying or embarrassing.

Do you have an old m100 or m416 trailer there? I’m either building a trailer out of a couple Tj tubs I have or I’m going to buy one of the old military trailers soon. I was planning on splicing the rear of two Tj tubs back to back with a tailgate at each end and I have the tubs to do it but I’m not sure I have the time currently. So I started looking for an old military trailer.

My ugly trailer started out life as a late-40's Marville Dwyer utility trailer. A long time ago, someone added a pair of fenders made from an even older boiler and made a tongue out of 3" water pipe. I bought it a few years ago, did a spring over, rebuilt the tongue, and added the lunette ring. I have more plans for it someday.

I like it. I want one to drag around the trails in CO for camping.

I have a similar setup . 2 single led driving lights wired to my back up lights so my back up camera has more light , plus I back mine into a small garage. I like them a lot.

They are designed as tail lamps (stop/turn/tail/reverse). The reverse function is bright, but not anything like a light pod or bar. They’re very functional, but if you want crazy amount of light, stick with a pod. These are basically better than your typical reverse light, but below a typical pod. They wouldn’t make a good fog.
