Simplest Dana 44 rear disc conversion?

Explain to me what exactly: "they offer consistent operation in high-heat and wet situations" means. I've never had a single problem with my drums off-road, but maybe I'm missing something here.
I'm going to guess that with the bullshit I'm seeing that ya'll are being trolled hard again, no?

If by boring you mean nice, articulate, and knowledgeable, then you would be correct. If by boring you mean the average IQ of the place rises about 20 points, that would also be correct.

What can I say? I live for drama.

“disc systems definitely work better in the 'wheeling world, because they offer consistent operation in high-heat and wet situations and are much easier to maintain and adjust.”
- Rick pewe while editor at JP.

I guess he is full of shit according to you...

Is your reading comprehension really that poor?

Rick Pewe wrote, "disc systems definitely work better in the 'wheeling world." He never wrote, "drum brakes aren't good for wheeling." Those were your words.

Since it does not necessarily follow that if one thing works better than another thing that the second thing must be bad, only you are full of shit.

I was using my own words. And not plagiarizing. It’s called opinions not reading comprehension.

And they aren’t good if you have to take them apart after wheeling trips to clean them out to get your brake performance back. My own personal experience has been that they fill up with mud and muck after wheeling and braking suffers.

And the Jeep team came to the same conclusion I did.

Maybe you are missing something. 4 wheel disc brakes!

You don’t need more hp and tq but it’s nice to have right?

Have you modified your Jeep? Did you actually “need” to or want to?

What? I modified my Jeep because I needed more off-road performance. I wanted to tackle harder obstacles that my current Jeep just couldn't do. Try again. Explain exactly what you typed means.

To the op. “Wherever you wheel, you’ll reap the benefits”( of 4 wheel disc brakes)
-Jeep 2003. First year the Jeep Wrangler was offered with 4 wheel disc brakes.
When have you ever seen a manufacturer not recommend the latest greatest improvement?
Not picking sides because discs and drums both have their pros and cons depending on the usage.

What con exactly do disc brakes have? What pros do drum brakes have?

Jeep said the disc brakes are better for offroad performance, which is EXACTLY why you have modified your Jeep.

You said you needed more offroad performance. Jeep said the 4 wheel disc were added for offroad performance.

So where’s your disconnect in this understanding.

I've always thought that the drum brake emergency brake system would work better than the little drums in discs that are used in the disc brake system. Just because it is actuating the real brakes instead of those little shoes in the disc. For those that have used both is there any difference?

The only pro for drums for me is that I have them now and they work fine, haha! Other than that, not sure. My parking brake works good too, so I really have no reason to mess with them.

The parking brake on my disc brake setup is not great. All the vehicles I've had with drums are so much better but I've never driven a TJ with drums.

Surprisingly, the drum in hat parking brake is equivalent to drum brakes going forward and better in reverse. That is due to the fact that drum service brakes have a primary and secondary shoe so they work better one direction than the other. The drum in hat rotor parking brake has both shoes the same size and in fact not side specific. They work the same both directions and do so very well.
