Did some yard work around the house yesterday afternoon and couple hours later my son and I go to jump into the TJ except just after opening my drivers side door I hear the loud unpleasant sound of something falling inside my Jeep and damn if things just don’t look right? I run around to the passengers side and there’s a giant hole in my passengers side rear quarter glass “wtf” I’m initially thinking some kid with a bb f’ng Gun and thinking about reporting my misery when it dawns on me it was my own stupidity with the string trimmer throwing a rock into the glass. Amazon had one for $85 the vendor contacted me after I’d placed the order to confirm it was the right part for my Jeep, while I was telling him what happened he said he has been getting a bunch of glass orders now for the same thing... looks fairly easy to install, that means I probably be ordering a second one soon:oops:.

A safety reminder from my misery, point the string trimmer away from all that lovely flat Jeep tj glass or be picking those tiny square bits of glass up for years!

I parked my brand new Yamaha FJR 1300 in the garage in it's new home. It rains that night, and with a leak in the garage roof along the wall next to my new bike, water fills up a spare motorcycle tire hanging on a rack, the rack pulls out of the wet wall with the added weight of the water, falls against the weed eater, weed eater falls and hits the gas tank on the new scooter putting a dent in it. Damn, oh well so much for the new bike anxiety, got that out of the way pretty quickly! Effing weed eaters anyway.

Weed eating along some boulders along my driveway last week and something caught my eye down by my right foot. Small Diamondback was 12" away and coming towards me. Weed eater won

I used to work at a landscaping company and it was always an issue weed wacking near cars. Usually we'd just avoid them like the plague.

Sometimes no matter what you do or how careful, s#!t happens. that first scratch is very liberating, but it’s a shame you didn’t get to enjoy that new bike shine a bit longer. Damn weed eater conspiracy it is, take over the world they will and “Kill all humans” they’ll try. 00100100o_O:D

Get good window sealant and plan ahead to have something to hold it in place as it cures. I let mine sit overnight jsut to be safe. You need to clean out the old sealant from the channels.
Thanks a lot for posting thhose tips you probably saved me some time and trouble and the attachment is really helpful.

Wow, that was one of the easier repairs to do on my tj and I’m really glad I did this one myself, thanks again to S.McArther for the info sheet. $85 for the dark tint privacy glass, $30 for the urithane adhesive and I was able to reuse the old seal trim. Cleaning the channel on the old seal trim was the most difficult it was packed with old adhesive and broken glass, cutting away the old urathine from the window gate was fairly simple with a sharp knife. This was a job I would not hesitate to tackle again.
