Wrecked her

Fix it. Don't declare defeat before trying. A price or opinion from a body shop is absolutely no gauge on the severity of a repair. Body shop owners are usually Chicken Littles by design. Insurance agents are mathematicians not mechanics.

They said they would not fix it at all. I talked about salvage title options ect. Having a little over 2k left over on the lien after the settlement offer which is amazing I think all things considered $8940 and change

I think the option is finding something else I can work out of (RHD) and hoping I can find something that can be added to that $2k and keep on going. Just not many options with everything else that came up in the last month. I just came out of pocket almost $3k 2 weeks ago having the tyranny rebuilt [emoji17]

Trying to be positive and just get back to work quickly without keeping the rental car longer than needed

A whole RHD jeep would cost about 2 grand to ship to a US port. Those that are here come from Japan to be stripped for drivetrain parts. They are generally low mileage, unmodified and drivable. Too much work to do it, but that is the approximate cost.

You need to do the mature , adult thing -

Take your girlfriend out , get her drunk , then show her the Jeep the next morning , and tell her she did it.

Maybe she will file it on her insurance.

If you marry her , having a jeep from then on won't be an issue .

Let us know how it works out .

Lol interesting response

Going through a divorce. She always responded with buys and their toys. I really didn’t get as involved as I wanted. I’m just glad they are giving me a really good pay off for total loss. Just have to make the best of it. The next Jeep. I’ll try your route haha

The grill is irrelevant as long as the rad is intact. Same with the bumper as long as the tire has clearance. The steering, I have trouble believing the axle is damaged. Sure the steering might be out of alignment, something easily replaceable might be bent but this is not a write off.

So they are totaling the jeep but the offer I’m getting is in my opinion kind of incredible ... so I do have to deal with wanting to get something newer possibly. I guess will wait-and-see but considering it’s work, I need more room I may look for a JK don’t everybody hate me at once lol

I'd want to keep the TJ if possible/affordable. But glad you are getting a good settlement HighFive on that !!!! Job wise, moving to a newer JK.... OR 4cylinder JL is a smart move. TJs are now old cars. Just like the CJs and YJs.

I won't sell my TJR but given I drive 24K miles a year, I'm looking at a JK because of the new 2018s discounts. A base Sport is $20K USD in Canada. Stupid to NOT buy one !!!!!

Well I got the bumper pulled some so maybe the tire won’t rub. Maybe the shop can manage to get a radiator in there. I have no way to pull the grill. Didn’t have the leverage. I’ll know tomorrow [emoji849]

Can I ask what those things are that are attached to the top of your grill?

On the Tj? They were LED’s front and rear when I’m on the route. I didn’t like all the crazy magnets and stickers on my Jeep lol

Gotcha. I thought that might be what they were but then I also thought they looked like light bulb sockets.
