Road trip to Waiheke Island

Took my kids out to Waiheke island about 1 hour ferry ride from my city...has its own little micro climate so plenty of great vineyards (although I don't drink) but good food goes with the vineyards and I do eat !! Cracker day weather wise although had to leave my place before sunrise to catch the early ferry....plenty of beaches and gravel roads to climb...thought I'd share.

It was started off around 60 degrees and went up to 82 degrees...clear skies and low winds. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Snow or no snow you are around very beautiful country. We actually only got 4" yesterday and now snowing again..maybe up to 9". That is the only real snow so far this year, last year we had 51" by now!

What are the water temps like.

Pretty good this time of year..72 degrees is about average...come though Winter we get down to about 55 degrees.
South island gets allot cooler 60 degrees to 48 degrees in Winter.
