Took the outer boot off. Shifts better. Going to replace inner boot and try a leather boot on the outer

Today i installed a brand new Mopar crankshaft position sensor ($160 !! egads !) in my 97 2.5L with 169k.
It had been giving me intermittent misfire codes (43, 43) on cylinders 3 & 4.
Immediate smoother running upon first start. She runs like a brand new jeep! Big relief. I had been troubleshooting this problem for months.

Figured out the shudder I had in 2nd and 3rd gear. Wore out rear u-joint. The needle bearings were totally gone on the misshapen one. Took forever to get it out, had to use the cutoff wheel. I think they were original due to how rusted they were in there. New one ready to go in.
i cleaned up my skid plate after removing it to search out a transmission leak. I can’t believe how much crap was built up on it. Nice thing about that it kept it rust free. Also after researching others posts, I think my big transmission leak was due to overfilling. I will soon find out. More work to come but had to get it off the lift so my son can get his truck up there to get new spacers and wheels and tires on his dodge truck.

Finally junked the nonfunctional factory sub.
Dropped in a powered Kenwood unit that was on amazon special the other day.
Stuffed it back in the same hole. Held in place by packing in foam insulation.
Nice to hear the low end of the music again, but need to get it dialed in so I don’t sound like a high school kid.

Went to install my new FREE ball joints. It was a fight. I have the driver side done. Now ro rest up and do the other side tomorrow.

New member here... Today I getting all my junk out of my 2001 Sport so it will be cleaned out to take to the body shop tomorrow morning. The body is good, but the frame is rust rotted in sections.
I am putting the skid plate section and the rear control arm sections on both sides. I don't have the equipment to do it so I'll pay them to do it.

Not sure if this is the correct way to do it but there was no lightbulb in my under hood light. Bought some leds and put two back to back so both sides are illuminated. One led just looked weird.

New radio installed. Been running with no tunes for some time.
Changed engine oil, rotated tires, lubed chassis.
