A Story of Indecision and Frivolous Spending

Didn't even realize that! Oh well, according to Paul, he prefers the Fox shocks, so I'll go with his recommendation since he is the "shock guy".

Dave mentioned this person as well @Chris. I noted down for for reference.

Yes, I ordered the Fox shocks from him last night, tuned specifically for my TJ. He's not too far from me.

Chris it is the build and the research going into it that you like....I can be the same way. Once i am done i lose interest and look for the next project.....I hope for you sake it is not but I understand.
I’m the same way. His build does generate a lot of banter for his website too so that’s a plus. It’s hard to know when enough is enough.

Somehow I missed this thread. And I've scrolled thru looking for the outboard shock mount. Might have missed it after 118 pages, but did you do it? Can you post the photos or direct me to the page. Many thanks, Bill Awesome build Chris.

Haha, yes, it changes every 15 minutes just about.

It really is an addiction. But, once this is all done, at least the entire underside of the Jeep will be 100% the way I want it.
Lol then you will sell it and get another one.

I can’t believe the coin you shell out for your Jeep. It really looks great though man. Maybe one day my wife will let me put about 3k into mine lol

Yes, that is definitely part of it, I agree! I'm not sure I'll ever run out of things to do though, honestly. There's so many things you can do to a Jeep, that I think this thing can keep me busy until I die!

Haven't done them yet! The Jeep goes in on Monday for the Savvy mid-arm install, outboard shocks, and RubiCrawler install! Once it's back, I'll post photos and impressions!

You got a savvy skid plate? What happened with the Rokman one? The rear angle is gonna be pretty steep now. I'm pumped to see this next step done in a few weeks.

The Savvy skid plate should be here in a few weeks since they build them to order. I ordered it last week though, so hopefully in the next few weeks. I still have the Rokmen one. Once I take it off, I'll put it up locally for sale (way too heavy to ship). I'm not sure the angle will be any steeper than it is now. I believe the Rokmen is the same height as the Savvy skid, it just hangs down lower on the sides, but that's just by design.

I've been very patiently waiting on all my Savvy skids going on 4 weeks now. You better not get yours before I do!

No kidding? Wow, sounds like I might be waiting longer than I thought! No big deal if that's the case. I've got the Rokmen skid on there in the meantime.

Nevermind it's been 3 weeks. October 29th is when I placed my order. I'm hoping to receive them this week?

I don't know how long they take to build them, but I would suspect 3-4 weeks at most.

What surprised me is the mid-arm kit. That thing was shipped out the same day I ordered it!

Savvy is always hit or miss. I got all my under armor parts within two weeks of ordering. I ordered my taillights and rock sliders September 15th. I was told the tail lights should ship out this week. I was also told that the rock sliders probably won't be ready for another 6 weeks or more...

I'm with Chris. I don't really understand the manufacturing times. I'm sure there is some reason though.

How much more will the savvy skid raise the tc vs. the Rokmen skid?

I don’t think it raises it much more at all. The savvy plate is deceiving. It looks flat from the side, but it comes down in the middle almost like an upside down pyramid. I could be wrong though, maybe it will raise it more.

Either way, with the body lift and everything else, I certainly have the clearance for it!
