Hi All, So I'm in the market for a new front driveshaft for my 1999 Jeep 2.5l 4cyl. On all the websites I can only find front driveshafts for a 4.0 I know that the auto ds and the manual ds are different but are the 4.0 and 2.5 ds different. If anyone knows if the driveshafts are interchangeable please let me know! Thanks guys (love the forum btw)

Go straight to Tom Wood's website at www.4xshaft.com and they'll take care of you. They'll make any length you need, you'll just have to make a quick measurement to make sure. I've known Tom for years and his pre-sales and post-sales support is unsurpassed. I think I'm probably up to having installed maybe six of his driveshafts over the years. If Tom is there ask to talk to him and please tell him I sent you, I owe him some favors after everything he's done for me over the past 16-17 years. :)

Awesome thanks so much, all of the ones I found were only marketed for a 4.0 so id thought I would throw it up on the forum in case anyone else had this problem.

It looks like they are the same from a quick search.

Tom Woods makes top quality stuff. My guess is you can get something for significantly cheaper, but it won't be the same quality.

Go straight to Tom Wood's shop, you'll get MUCH better pre-sales support and you can specifiy things like sealed Spicer u-joints which they'll do at no extra charge. Plus Tom would rather sell it to you directly than have to mess with Quadratec and pay them a commission. If you tell them I sent you you'll likely be able to get some kind of a small discount. If Tom is there ask to talk with him. He's cutting back though, he's getting ready to retire. But if you speak with him you'll see why I think the world of him, his driveshafts, and his service.
