What did you do to your TJ today?

Stuck babysitting painters at the job site, so went ahead and did new rotors and pads front & rear.

I think I need a lull for the house.

Since it is flooding down here in Texas(sing it Stevie Ray) I decided to do a few interior mods. First I enhanced my Jeeps security by adding a Texas Custom Holster for my Glock 23, an old IWB magazine holster for extra high capacity magazines, a Glock knife and sheath, extra grab handles for us old folks, and a co-driver since my wife refuses to get into the Jeep until I add steps.

Nice Gregg, you can never have enough places to hang a Glock! What do you have going on on the A pillar there, looks like a grab handle of some sort?

Ron, the wheel base of TJs are so short that it cannot handle a tail spin swing from that huge trailer. I thought the tongue weight is what to watch but apparently that is just a half of the equation to consider. I also do not have the eBrake in my trailer and so, I drive no more than 50 mph.

It is 5’ X 8’ trailer, the entire weight of the trailer is 700lbs. I did some research before I bought the trailer, I took the information for both the trailer and Jeep to a RV place that sells Tear Drop trailers and had them look it up, they said I was good. I took the Jeep to a hitch place and they looked it up said it was good so I had them install a class lll receiver. Thanks for your input, it’s nice to have a place to get get that. Although on a couple occasions I have detected a condescending tone to some of the newer members by some of the more experienced ones. But not often, and that is why I’m still a member. Thanks again!

So I’m trying to replace the aftermarket stereo with a factory CD player and have found that whoever installed the aftermarket one cut the factory plug from the original harness and I was wondering if anyone had one they wanted to part with?

Not sure if this helps. But this should help ya in your search a little bit. eBay is a great source to find factory parts.

Or lookup/call Palmer Brothers over in trussville and get one from YOUR local Jeep salvage yard.

Sometimes you fix a problem and then you find out it fixed another.

Changed out my distributor to fix an intermittent cam sensor light. Btw it was cheaper than buying the sensor, cap and rotor in pieces. Because i am different i like to point the rotor directly at the block @ 90 degrees. It just easier for me to make sure it was aligned. Got it done and it fired up really quickly. Faster than it ever had. I had thought all this time it was the fuel check valve. But it was not. Im happy happy happy.
Some day ill change the wires. They are newish just got degreaser on them and stained.

tackled another item on the list...this week it was replacing the two downstream oxygen sensors (#8 below).

1. replace a/c compressor, dryer and a/c liquid line. evacuate and recharge system.
2. replace radiator and thermostat (flush cooling system)
3. replace drive belt, tensioner & idler pulley
4. replace transmission pan gasket & filter
5. replace valve cover gasket
6. replace tie rod ends, drag links, and sway bar links (requires sub alignment)
7. replace rear shocks
8. replace two downstream oxygen sensors

Had a check engine light and a blown O2 fuse a few days ago. Codes for 3 of 4 oxygen sensors so replaced all four sensors and fuse.

(Was a reminder how awesome this forum is that it was easier to find the info on here rather than digging through service manual)
