What did you do to / in your garage / shop today?

I'll sometimes use one of these in the driveway, set my packout cases on it when needed or use it as a work area.

I should get something cheap like that... I built this POS with scrap but it's not all that great as I'm sure you can tell

So I guess if you're going to put them on rails they have to still come out

I've only had the one rolling chest since about a year ago, prior to that I had three Kennedy hand boxes for most of the smaller hand tools. It was more portable, but sucked to work from once I had a garage space. The rails worked best for the hand boxes to keep them organized and I just kept them on after the toolbox shift.

Another reason I still have them on rails and haven't designed and printed drawer organizers is, my rolling chest is a Husky. That in and of itself isn't the issue, but it's the standard duty, not the heavy duty or pro line. Overall not a bad box for the loot and the drawers are nicely sized, but the drawer bottoms are somewhat weak, particularly the full width top drawer, which also happens to be my socket/ratchet drawer. It appears to sag with nothing but air in the drawer, much less this menagerie of relatively weighty stuff...

The partial width drawers don't seem to have the same problem, and are holding some decent weight.

No issues with this drawer, it's just one of my favorites.

I wonder how wide those drawers are compared to my smaller box, I didn't notice any sag but didn't explicitly check either.

Does that stuff roll around when you open/close the drawers? Guessing if I did go the off-road toolbox route that'd turn into a mess quick huh

I wonder how wide those drawers are

top long drawer: 47.5 in. W x 17.3 in. D
left drawers: 32.5 in. W x 17.3 in. D
right drawers: 12.7 in. W x 17.3 in. D

They note the steel as 21 gauge.

Not really. I do plan on some organization for the ratchets, breakers, and extensions. Sometimes that stuff moves a little, but it's a fairly heavy drawer loaded and you'd need to close it with some force to get it to move quickly enough.

off-road toolbox

I have a canvas tanker bag and canvas tool rolls if I need to go mobile. Plus, the bag and rolls are a much quieter arrangement in transit.

Oh that's a really wide boy. Mines like 23"

I started printing some stuff for mine. I am not that great at cad yet though

Haha I meant for like, going across my driveway. For actual offroading I am a soft sided bag kinda guy too.
