Ok...been chasing this noise for the better part of two months.

I have tried...

1. Replacing the front axle u-joints with new Spicers.
2. Replaced my ring and pinion on my Dana 30 with a Yukon. It's set up a little deep with .005 backlash.
3. Removed my new Tom Woods driveshaft...noise persists.
4. Put the Jeep up on four jack stands and no noise. Can't find it anywhere.
5. Put a GoPro on the front bumper and can't hear the noise.
6. Noise persists with or without the clutch depressed.
7. Noise changes when steering.

Thoughts? I want to go snow wheeling!

Double carden is shot!

I have a spare for my front...I wonder if it's the same...

Ok so I either need part 211355X which is the greasable version...or...211544X...

I called all three part stores in town and nobody has one or can get one. I'll call a couple of driveshaft shops tomorrow.

But it looks like a week for shipping. Grr. That or drive to Portland.

That’s the centering ball on a rear DC driveshaft. I chased that one for a long time.

So I called the Springfield store...told them there was one in Corvallis...they hemmed and hawed and said nope... doesn't exist.

Called the Corvallis store. Guy went and pulled it off the shelf and then put it on the shelf for the driver tomorrow to bring it to the Springfield store...put my name and number on it.

Called the Springfield store back and asked them to leave a note for whomever was going to be on shift tomorrow morning to call me when the part arrived.

I probably should have just gone and picked it up...but you know me...I like to live dangerously.

Why is it so hard to get decent help these days.

Got a Neapco at Eugene Driveline.

Pulled all the caps and added grease.

Pumped five squirts into the needle bearing after install.

Zero noises.

Thanks everyone!
