A 400? Ugh! Needs a 460 in it, for certain! That 351M/400 is a crap motor. Gorgeous truck, however!
I'm a sucker for older crew cab trucks, and that one fits the bill. I agree it'd be cooler with a 460.
Dude in an MR2 group just replaced his 460 with a coyote and lost like 600lbs or something lol

He didn't seem to like his own truck all that much.
Old big blocks usually weight in around 650-700, small blocks are closer to 550. I know aluminum heads and intake on a SBC will knock off 100lbs. I don't know what a Coyote weights, but I wouldn't doubt he lost 200-300 lbs with that swap, and probably kept a similar amount of tq and gained hp.
I think he more than doubled his MPGs too. Thing really scoots in the videos

Not sure it'd be any cheaper but I'm sure availability is better for the 5.0
Ah yeah I don't know. I do think he got a crazy good price on the drivetrain, he was saying even the engines by themselves typically go way more. I don't think they're that common to find in a junkyard
