Spent today doing more wiring and cleaning up my HVAC unit. This thing was absolutely filthy! I ended up cleaning all the electrical connections and everything as well.

And here’s my rusted fuel pump. The entire inside of the tank looked like this! Thank goodness for fuel filters!

Finished everything regarding the fuel tanks today. Got fuel in it, fired it up, and confirmed that both the main and aux tanks work. The Dakota Digital gauge cluster is in place and I've finally got a working fuel gauge.

This took me a while but I was really pacing myself. I'm happy I've got a functional dual saddle fuel tank setup. Next up is painting the metal portion of the dashboard and then I'm going to get started on the manual transmission swap.

White, to match the exterior. Whoever did it before me rattle canned it and it doesn't look the best.

For what it's worth , if it was a factory built truck the blue would have been in cab color . The good thing is either way , it will look great .

Really? I thought that since it was two tone exterior the lower half of the dash would be white and the dash pad would be blue (to match the exterior).

The main body color and the inside of the cab were the same color , it didn't matter if the truck was solid color or with the white side accent.

In that case, I'm painting the dashboard Marina Blue (I think that's the name for it).

I'm hoping I can find someone with a paint gun, mask off the interior, prep it, and then paint it. I don't think it should be too difficult since it's a fairly small surface area. Half the dash is covered by the dash pad anyways.

Prep work has begun on the dash. Taking it down to bare metal and then spraying it in Marina Blue followed by clear coat. After that I'll put the new dash pad on, new door panels, and then the interior will look brand new. After that it's transmission swap time!

The torsional damper was different 350 vs. 400 so that makes sense . Maybe the mechanic custom built the flywheel.

Back in the mid/late 80s and well into the 90s I had a 77 K20 that I put 6" lift and 14/35-16.5 Monster Mudders on.
I swapped in a SBC 400 in front of the SM465.
The local salvage yard had a small stamped steel plate that was installed with the factory flywheel that balanced everything out.
Worked really well.

Yep, I’ve been paying attention for it. Fortunately it’s so damn dry here that it doesn’t seem to be an issue.
