1997-2006 heater cores

Mine started leaking a few years ago. I went with a 4 seasons unit. I've always had good luck with their stuff. It started leaking after about 8 months. The heat output wasn't impressive either. Although the one I installed in my kids XJ blows hot
I love how the every company's product description reads......"OE design to ensure exact fit, form and function."

Hello asshat manufacturer.... If it's o.e. design.....why does the heat output suck?

I'm probably going to suck it up and order the Brassworks unit.

That's about where I'm sitting at this point. The sweet smell of coolant after a few minutes of driving and the glass fogging is getting a bit old heading into winter number three with Tess. I refreshed her cooling system almost immediately after purchasing, the core is the only part that didn't get replaced at the time...it was inevitable. Just been trying to figure the best replacement option, and I think we may have it.

Maybe they could start making some old school radiators for us as well, though you might need a second mortgage to afford one... :sneaky:

Sure wish someone would give feedback on these brassworks cores and tell us if they are worth it.

Just got mine in today, ordered it on the 4th of December. Hoping to replace it sometime soon and see if it’s good after hearing good news about it. Gonna replace my thermostat with a 190 since it seems I’m stuck at 180 atm after building the stroker.

Dang the fins look tight! Can’t wait till you get it installed. Hope for the best.

My factory heater core had tight fins like this guys has. My aftermarket summit one are wide but seem to work fine for where I live.

Indeed would be great if someone can report back about longevity on the Brassworks core.
More concerned about longevity than exact OEM heat output as I really don’t want to do the replacement more than once.
Back when the core on my old TJ failed I replaced it with OEM as they still could be found.

$345 is well worth the price if i don't have to pull the dash and replace a 4th heater core, 2 performance radiator cores lasted 18 months each
And the Brass works core puts out really good heat
At 60° outside temp i saw 161° out of the floor register
