I think if you're talking Cobra, the slim-hipped 289 is the sweet spot. Of course, I feel the same way about the GT40 as well, the Mk I w/289 being the one I'd have. Not a Ferrari beater, but I think the best looking GT40 and still a quick car.

My dad talked about 289s. He had one in a Shelby GT350, and another in a Falcon Ranchero with 4.88 gears.
Hard to beat those small block V8's for me. I've got a thing for both the 283 and 289, in particular.

Love these, but they had a problem of a fuel line running too close to the ground. Had a rich kid in college go over a speed bump too quick and it went up in flames. He had a new Ferrari the next week.
I've got a coworker that's been looking for one of these for a year or so. He's trying to find one that isn't in great shape because he's got like 60k not the 90k the nice ones go for
Apparently it leaks fuel at that angle whoops
