Piss & Moan Table

I kinda laugh at the idea of stone countertops , they look cool , but are so fragile to real life kitchen scenarios . I wouldn't do a back flip if someone set a sloppy orange juice glass on my laminate countertop .

We have them. They're nice, look good, blah, blah, blah. I wouldn't have paid for them if I had been doing the remodel. Wife prefers laminate over tile.

Its so hard to find good help these days.

The gal who built our Ma'at garden moved away. Found another who calls herself the "Garden Girl". She was 2X the price of the 1st one, but did a good job until she ghosted me after she was busted for Grand Theft Auto. I've been looking ever since for someone similar. Everybody either is a mow and blow, or they want to install landscaping. Found one guy who sounded good, but he backed out when I explained what this garden was about. Disappointing, but that's why I asked him up front. Found "Zack", who came over and did a great job of what needed doing - but he has a 4 hour minimum, and I'm looking for more like 2 hours every 4-6 weeks. Asked a property manager I know if she knew of someone - the one she had on staff moved away 6 months ago. These "plant ladies" are few and far between - although I can find some in Gainesville or Pensacola - which does me no good whatsoever.

Today, I went down to my jeweler to have a pendant repaired. This particular pendant I've had for about 28 years, wear it every day and am more than a bit superstitious about it. I'm leaving for Egypt early next year. Jeweler wasn't taking any more repair work this year, and will be closed the entire month of January. "Can you recommend someone else?" So I went to the recommended outfit, they couldn't get it done until 2 weeks after I leave and I REALLY want that thing around my neck when I travel...

But - money talks. For a 50% surcharge, they'll have it ready before I leave.

Supply and demand is more in play now , than ever before. Glad you could get the jeweler to work out.

If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that the old adage "if you want something right, do it yourself" is more relevant now more than ever. If I had a special garden of great importance to me, I'd learn how to care for it myself. Have you considered that option? 🤷‍♂️

I do what I can. Its better if someone who knows what the flock they're doing handles it. Yea, I can maintain it - and am right now - but would rather have help. It is what it is...

Went to granddaughter's Xmas program at the school's church. Really cute program, I especially enjoyed "O Holy Night", one of my very favorite carols - and better yet, I wasn't subjected to "Jingle Bells"! What I was subjected to was the sea of glowing rectangles in my field of view. I'm rapidly becoming convinced that there is nobody on earth who owns one of these damn things that isn't just downright inconsiderate of others and rude - its endemic in the smartphone culture because it is ALL about the PHOOOOOONNE!!:mad:

You have to at least admit it's better than the alternative that could have been, flash back to 30 years ago...

Picture in your mind, a sea of Betamax and VHS camcorders floating just above shoulder height all trying to capture the moment so as to be able to relive it for years to come!!!

Rookie, get there early and get the front row.
