Those keyless entry remote push to start "luxury" vehicles have higher insurance premiums over here because they are so easy to steel with relay attacks, some insurance companies just outright refuse to insure them now. Land Rover stopped offering insurance for their own SUV's in London when they became the 2nd most stolen car in the country.
I hadn't even thought about that aspect. ALL vehicles in the USA are now luxury vehicles. You can't get away from them.
LOL, ...and I'm casually shopping for another low mileage TJ-SE with a 2.5l and a manual transmission.
My non-TJ life lasted weeks, not years.
Wow, they saved a machining step by not keying the cranks, etc. Saved 50 cents, and added $5K worth of electronic crap to make up for it. And effete Americans will line up to buy this junk.

I had to drive the wife’s new 2025 vehicle this afternoon. Got off the interstate and the single lane off-ramp opened up to 2 straight lanes and a left turn lane at the cross road. I steered to the right lane and the vehicle fought me and tried to stay in the center. WTF? Who’s driving this thing? I thought I was. We got to the destination and she went into the store while I sat in the parking lot and turned off all the onboard nannies that I could. Both my DDs don’t even have TPMS or a screen, and this 2025 is an abomination to me.
I drove my brothers Toyota home from a clinic where he had had eye surgery. Damn thing kept breaking when it thought I was not changing lanes correctly. Dangerous as hell.

I can't help but suspect that there is some malicious agenda behind this continued descent into over-engineered and overpriced uselessness. I don't believe that they are that inept. Are they trying to get us all burned out on owning our own vehicles so that at some point everybody is willing to "own nothing and be happy?" We'll all have to call a government operated ride-shareto go anywhere. But you won't need 4wd because that's bad for the climate. Just stay in your 15 minute city, close to home.

I think a lot of it is indeed driven by the WEF and all its crap, sure. The dictionary definition of "Effete" is "affected and overly refined" - Goddess FORBID that we have to roll our own windows!
But its a kind of self-inflected stupid - I'm too sophisticated or good for that.

Reminds me of what Regenerative Braking does to people on highways, even when moving at a relatively steady pace the vehicle is constantly trying to get some charge so it will feather the brakes, anybody behind them will see the brake lights constantly going on and off for no reason.
Sounds like every trip on the highways and byways nowadays. Even without this tech, people seem to think they need to be "on a pedal" constantly and have clearly never been taught how to coast and use engine braking (well, before EV anyway).
