i picked up a bosche pump, regulator, and new screens (i really hope they are genuine parts😂) and i want to toss them in to stop my long crank condition. but i dont see any articles about how to actually disassemble the fuel pump down to it’s individual components. before i drop my tank and overwhelm myself. is it pretty straight forward?

YouTue is where I went when I did my 05. Run as much fuel out of the tank as you can to lower the weight. Be careful with the hoses on the tank. I broke a plastic fitting on mine while lowering the tank and before I had enough room to get my hand in there.

I modified a HF trans jack to lower the tank. My 05 pump is retained in the tank differently than your 01.

I needed to fabricate a tool to remove and reinstall it.
