Had a positive experience with Denny at Denny’s DS. He called me back yesterday because I thought I had the incorrect u-joint. I missed the call as I was busy working on the jeep.

Called him back this morning to say thank you for calling me back and I did have the correct u-joint. For those of you who seen my question about my install of the cardan and the gap. He confirmed that the part is called “H-yoke” and is symmetrical on each end. I explained my situation to him and he was patience and asked questions to get to the issue.

Denny mentioned the white bushings that is on the inside of the cap and did I make sure there was only one in each cap. He said it would go back together but the DS would be slightly off-center. Which mine is as the gap on the opposite side is bigger and he said that isn’t right. So I need to take it all apart again to see if I accidentally have two bushing in one cap.

All that work to check for a bushing, ugh. Wish I could get it out without dropping the skid plate.

You're not the first guy to have to take everything all apart again for a chickenshit problem. In fact, if this is your first time, you can look forward to more in the future! At least familiarity will make it go a bit quicker. There are some guys who will take the DS out without dropping the plate - I'm not one of them. Dropping the plate is easy and fast, unlike trying to get the DS out with it in.

I think it was @macleanflood who disassembled is TC something like 7 times? It happens!

He definitely saw that through. I felt for him.

It’s not the first time, but might be the first time what seems like this much effort involved. Plus to mention not 💯 sure it’s the issue, but it makes sense as it looks like it may be off center. Can’t believe a little bushing would make that much of a difference. You are right though, it should be a smoother process.
